U.S appeals WTO softwood lumber ruling

The United States will appeal the World Trade Organization’s ruling against the countervailing duties that the U.S. established in 2017 on softwood lumber exports from Canada.

The Canadian Press reports that the U.S. is making the appeal despite having said earlier this that the WTO appeals body ‘did not need to exist.’
